What
Lasting Impact is an emerging nonprofit that seeks to partner with US schools and universities to build homes and create employment opportunities in El Salvador, while funding education and meal programs critical to the Salvadoran communities’ success.
Why
There is an urgent need to bridge the gap from a previous organization (Project FIAT) that provided essential support to the Salvadoran people for several decades before ceasing operations.
There is an opportunity to cultivate global experiences and a lifelong love for service among a US student population whose enrichment was hindered with Covid-19.
How
We will build on existing relationships with US schools and universities to launch service trips where volunteers construct homes for Salvadoran communities in-need alongside our Salvadoran partners.
We will use these trips to fund local meal and education programs by collecting trip donations and nurturing lasting relationships that result in sustained contributions.
